What is Kind Witness?
A private diary for symptoms, seizures, flares and reactions, built so you can show your doctor exactly what happened.
Does Kind Witness diagnose anything?
No. Kind Witness is a diary. It records what you tell it and helps you share it. Only a doctor can diagnose a condition or rule out other causes. Read our medical disclaimer
Can I track more than one condition?
Yes. Choose every condition that applies when you set up. Each entry uses the template you pick, and reports can show each condition on its own or all together.
Where is my diary kept?
Your diary is stored and encrypted on your phone. Nothing leaves it unless you send it. How we protect your diary
Can you read my diary?
No. Kind Witness has no server that stores diaries. We can't read your entries, because we never have them.
How do I send a report to my doctor?
Pick the dates and Kind Witness builds a PDF: a one-page summary first, then every entry and photo. Send it from your own email, or print it.
What if I lose my phone?
Without your phone's passcode, and your app lock if it's on, your diary can't be opened. On your new phone, install Kind Witness, choose Restore, and open your latest backup file with your recovery code.
If you haven't made a backup, your diary can't be recovered, because it was only ever on your phone. Kind Witness reminds you to make one every month.
What if I lose my recovery code?
As long as you still have your phone, your diary is fine. A backup can only be opened with its recovery code, so a backup whose code is lost can't be opened by anyone, including us. Keep the code somewhere safe, such as a password manager or on paper at home.
Is Kind Witness free?
The diary itself is free, for good. Pro is for people who want more from their reports and photos.
What happens to my diary if I stop paying?
Nothing is taken away. You keep every entry and photo, and you can still add to, read, back up and export your diary. Only the Pro extras switch off.
How do I cancel?
Cancel any time in your App Store or Google Play subscriptions. Pro stays on until the end of the time you've paid for.
How do I delete everything?
In settings, choose Delete everything. Kind Witness destroys its keys first, so nothing left behind can be read, then deletes your diary. Deleting the app also deletes your diary from your phone. If you want a copy, export it first.
